2012

This is a list of past releases, screenings and events relating to Australian cinema in the United Kingdom in 2012. For current and future dates, please consult the Aussie Film Calendar.

The year of Queen Elizabeth II’s golden jubilee and the London Olympics (‘the greatest ever’?) was also a bumper year for Australian cinema in the UK, including theatrical releases for X: Night of VengeanceRed DogThe Hunter, SaluteA Few Best Men, The Sapphires, Dead Europe and Mental, a season of recent Aussie cinema at Cinema City in Norwich, the resurrection of the London Australian Film Society, the emergence of FilmFest Australia (a new festival from the team behind the Barbican’s London Australian Film Festival), and features showing at a range of film festivals including Raindance, Scala Beyond, Frightfest and the BFI London Film Festival.
